Weekending

From the City...
Well lucky for us here in Ontario (as well as in Alberta and Saskatchewan) because we got a whole extra day of weekending, known as family day.  I'm all about the made up holidays so this one was met with arms wide open.  For starters it was warm and sunny here in Toronto so a big walk was in order followed by some diaper washing, baking and some dinner preparation; minestrone soup with tea biscuits, hummus, Laura's preserved eggplant and cheese.
Simple and gooooooood.
Here's some pics from our weekend in the city.
Laura brought me some of her sprouts which we've been living off of.  This is pretty much what we ate all weekend.  Sprout and avocado sandwichs with carrot and sprout salad.
I went to a sold out Strumbellas Show.  It was fantastic.  The place was packed, so packed you could hardly dance, but don't worry, we still managed to.
As of tomorrow you can officially buy the album here.  How good is that????
Theo and Ruby Love.
I worked on my quilt.  More details if I ever get the damn thing finished.
Oh me, Oh my.  Recipe here. I added cheese and scallions.
Big walks around U of T.  Simon just loves stopping and taking pics.

Linking up with Amanda at The Habit of Being.

    1. Marg, make a bunch of them cause they won't last long. Simon, Theo and I polished off all 10 in two days.

They'd be good made sweet too. With some cinnamon and some jam.

The show was amazing. I was blown away.

  5. What a wonderful weekend! That sprout and avocado sandwich looks divine. I keep trying to get my little one to eat avocado (with no success) so I often have leftovers that I like to eat on some toast. I never thought to add some sprouts. Yum!

    1. Theo hates avocado too! How can anyone hate avocado, especially when their mother eats them like they're going out of style ?????

If I didn't have him at home I would have thought he was swapped at the hospital...
