And the Winner is...

From the city and the country...

We have finally reached a decision (by drawing a name outta a hat...) for the winner of the Green Living Show tickets! We loved reading your entries! Grisward, your water saving tips are a great way to save water and if more people would "let it mellow" every once in a while, a lot of water would be saved indeed! Cam, you sound like a great recycling/composting advocate, by reducing your personal waste you are making a small difference in our landfills. Everyone should give that a try! Robfish, reusing bags is a great way to reduce the use of plastic in your household and I send my boy's sandwich in an old milk bag with him to school everyday! Megan, a garden is a great way to provide your family with the most local veggies you can possible eat. Zero food miles there! Good luck growing! and Simon, purchasing a CSA share is a great way to support your local farmer, and it insures you get the best, freshest, veggies possible! It is a win win situation both yourself and the farmer are getting the best. (I could go on and on about this one..)

Without further ado, the winner is: MEGAN!

Let us know how you would like to proceed with getting you the tickets and have a great, green weekend.

Many thanks, The Harvest Kitchen Sisters

Our First Ever Contest!

From the City and the Country...
So our friends over at Kawartha Ecological Growers passed us down two tickets to the Green Living Show in Toronto next weekend and we decided in good blog karma, to raffle them off to one of our lovely blog readers.

But first, here's a little bit about the Green Living Show.

It's all going down this upcoming weekend from April 23-25. There are tons of attractions including a farm fresh fair, an urban backyard exhibit as well as an urban forest workshop which include discussions on seed saving and the benefits of community gardens. Children 12 and under are free and there are lots of activities for the kiddies that day so if you win bring 'em along!

Contest Details:

Comment on this post with your best living green tip that you apply to your own life in the city or in the country. Laura and I will give them all a read and pick a winner by Tuesday evening.

Good luck!
