Flocking Options For Small Scale Farmers

This is a brick wall that has a lot of small scale farmers (including ourselves) running into. We can only raise 300 birds (without penalty) on our farms and then market said birds at farm gate. Farm gate means that farmers can only sell their chickens from their farms. This makes it inconvenient for the customer to purchase and difficult for the farmer to market. Many people are looking for alternative options then the factory raised bird. Many small scale farmers offer an alternative to this, with birds raised on pasture and in smaller numbers then 90,000 birds a year.
