First Hatch: Baby Buff Orpingtons!

From the country...



These little gaffers are the new installment to the farm crew, with many more to come!

  4. Yes, these chicks came from the incubator. It wasn't a very good hatch, only got 9 chicks! Kelly, thanks for the kind words,you should do the bark yard chicken thing! 2-3 chickens would lay enough eggs for the family. The only hitch would be the winter. I have been toying with the idea of a chicken rental for city folks. The idea would be that they would "rent" a ready to lay hen for the spring/summer/fall months and the birds would come back to the farm after that. Toronto does'nt have the bylaw yet though.... Laura
