whoa whoa whoa, did you hatch these little gaffers? To be think that something so cute can turn into a gross chicken. a
They are so cute, please put 3 or 4 girls in the mail (express post) for me since chickens may soon be allowed in Edmonton! http://www.edmontonjournal.com/news/Backyard+chickens+likely+raise+stink/2904836/story.htmlJoke! But they really are cute. And I'll bet they're very pretty when all growed up.
P.S. your blog is great: gorgeous photos, interesting links and updated frequently!
Yes, these chicks came from the incubator. It wasn't a very good hatch, only got 9 chicks! Kelly, thanks for the kind words, you should do the bark yard chicken thing! 2-3 chickens would lay enough eggs for the family. The only hitch would be the winter. I have been toying with the idea of a chicken rental for city folks. The idea would be that they would "rent" a ready to lay hen for the spring/summer/fall months and the birds would come back to the farm after that. Toronto does'nt have the bylaw yet though.... Laura
