I don't know what it is about Torontonians but we love to brunch. You name it, the middle of the week, the middle of the day, the middle of a snow storm etc etc etc, you get the drift.
There is something about lazing and eating with fellow lazers and eaters that is so comforting and lovely. There are also so many different ways to brunch to, you can brunch fancy a la King Edward, or kindda dirty but cheap a la the 24 hr. diner down the street from my place or you can brunch affordably on high quality, mouth watering goodness a la Aunties and Uncles at College and Lippincott. When push comes to show I seem to roll with the latter of the three brunch styles and end up waiting in the long line at A and U, unless you manage to drag yourself outta bed before 9 am that is.
I ALWAYS order the breakfast pocket because I feel that it literally is a pocket of pure perfection (say that three times fast). Imagine a warm focaccia pocket with the softest scrambled eggs you've ever had, tomato slices, caramelized onions, cheddar, a dijon mayo concoction and peameal bacon. I would even go as far as to say that it is the most popular thing on the menu. It is literally amazing.
So go there, have the pocket and take a trip to heaven. You can thank me later.
